Category Description Our Top Pick
Offers that fall into the low interest category distinguish themselves from other cards by having a lower interest rate that does not expire after a set period of time. There are many cards that have a low or zero APR during an introductory period then fall back to a higher rate once the intro period expires. Card listed in this category may have an introductory period but will go to a rate that is lower than most other cards. These offers here are more for those expecting to carry a balance on their card over a long time frame and may represent better savings over the long haul.
Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard® Offer
Over the years, Cash Back credit cards have continuously grown in popularity to the point now where every major issuer multiple cash back offerings. Being basically rewards cards, the cash back category contains those cards that have the higher rates of accumulating points towards the receipt of the bonus. Many offers have different rates of point accumulation based on the type of product purchased or where an item is bought that typically reach 5% or higher. Many also offer incentives to use their card at more specific merchants for up to 15% cash back. Also check for any sign-up bonuses or incentives as they may justify a new card on their own merits. These are excellent cards if you put a large amount of charges on the card and pay the balance every month.
Chase Freedom ® Visa - $200 Bonus Cash Back Offer
The primary focus of cards in the Balance Transfer category is to not only permit the transfer of balances from another card, but to also have a low rate for either an introductory period, or a permanent low rate. These cards can be an excellent way to save substantial interest for those in a situation where they carry a monthly balance on a high rate card. Be sure to make timely monthly payments since the default rates applied when payments are missed will surely negate any benefits from making the transfer. Finally, many issuers offer bonuses and rewards so these must be examined to get the best deal.
Discover® More® Card Offer
All Low Introductory offers feature a low or zero interest rate on either purchases, balance transfers or both for a defined period of time after you acquire the card. These cards can produce some of the biggest savings possible from obtaining a new credit card especially if you carry a monthly balance or are planning a major purchase.
